This Gw2 Chef Guide 1 - 400 is not the average guide. We don't suggest farming or buying tons of items, because there is a more efficient way in this Gw2 Chef Leveling Guide. This Chef Leveling Guide takes less mats, less time, less traveling and less gold to level your Gw2 Chef Crafting.

First a Few Chef Tips
- Mise en place (MEEZ ahn plahs) - It's a French term for having all your ingredients prepped and ready to go before you start cooking. This means, start off by preparing your salt and pepper and piles of cinnamon and sugar and get all the mats in your bags. Try to get only the ones you need in your bags because the discovery screen may make you attempt to create something of lower level.
- Make what you need - Some recipes just take Sugar and Salt so don't mix them all.
- The rule of 13 - On average it takes 13 discoveries to level a profession any given 25 levels. Discovering recipes yields an average of 2 levels per discovery with 12 usually being the minimum it can happen in and maximum it may take 15.

This sucks, i get all the materials, spend a shitton of gold on them and i get 'discover this' without any fucking guide on how to discover it, so, am i just supposed to try out a million combinations and eventually discover everything?
Too bad there wasn't some sort of device that would allow you to search for information on the exact ingredients in every single possible crafting recipe in GW2. Such a device would come in handy for searching for all sorts of things. It could be called a 'Searching Device' or some other similar term, and everyone could have access to it from their home. Oh, well, one can dream.
use the gw2 wiki to learn which items to use
I did that for alot of items. Some of the combinations are kinda obvious and I find its just more fun that way. :) I also used the official wiki to hunt for stuff I couldn't figure out.
